China Coast Race Week 2018

HK$0.00

China Coast Race Week 2018 comprises China Coast Regatta from 12 to 14 October and the 2018 Hong Kong to Hainan Race which will take place from 18 October.

CCRW comprises the China Coast Regatta and a Category One offshore race which alternates between Hong Kong to Hainan, China or Hong Kong to Nha Trang, Vietnam.

2018 Hong Kong to Hainan, 390nm - Starts 18 October
2019 Hong Kong to Vietnam, 673nm - Starts 16 October

Boats are welcome to enter the full CCRW or to enter either of its constituent events, to suit their own schedule. Both the China Coast Regatta and the Hong Kong to Vietnam Race / Hong Kong to Hainan Race are stand-alone events and have their own Notice of Race, Sailing Instructions, parties and prizes.

Boats which compete in both the China Coast Regatta and the Hong Kong to Vietnam Race / Hong Kong to Hainan Race will be eligible for prizes overall under IRC handicap.

China Coast Regatta

2018 marks the 26th edition of the regatta which was established in 1993. The event is based out of the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club’s Middle Island clubhouse; with sailors competing in a variety of windward/leeward and geometric and island courses. IRC, HKPN multihull racing takes place over three days with the HKPN monohull division joining for the weekend.  Competing yachts can expect the best of Hong Kong’s sailing conditions; excellent breeze, blue skies, warm friendly waters and great parties.

If 15 to 20 knots of northeasterly breeze in shorts and t-shirt weather is your sort of sailing, watch this space!

Hong Kong to Hainan Race

The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club cordially invites entries from yachts to the 11th edition of the Hong Kong to Hainan Race. This biennial Offshore Category 1 race is a classic 390nm downwind passage to Sanya, on the island of Hainan in southern China.

The current race record of 23h 31m 52s was set in the 2016 edition of the race by Seng Huang Lee's Scallywag. Sanya is a great finish location for boats intending to continue on to other sailing events around the Asia-Pacific region.

Boats competing in both the Hong Kong to Hainan Race and China Coast Regatta will be eligible for the overall China Coast Race Week prizes within their division.

The Hong Kong to Hainan Race is organised and conducted by the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club (RHKYC) with co-operation with the Bureau of Culture, Broadcast & TV, Publication and Sports of the Sanya Municipal Government with the finish hosted by Serenity Marina in Sanya, Hainan.
